What This Workflow Does
Shopify orders have to be rekeyed into SAP ECC before the warehouse and finance can act, and the same order can end up booked twice. This template picks up each new Shopify order, fetches the buyer's SAP ECC customer reference by email, checks SAP ECC for an existing order and only then creates the sales order with lines, quantities and pricing, writing the SAP ECC reference back to Shopify.

How the template works
When a Shopify order is placed, appse ai formats it for SAP ECC, fetches the buyer's SAP ECC customer reference by email and checks SAP ECC for an existing order. If none exists, it creates the sales order and updates the Shopify order with the SAP ECC reference.

Fetch the customer reference
The buyer is looked up in Shopify by email to get the reference that links them to their SAP ECC customer record.
Check SAP ECC for the order
SAP ECC is searched for a sales order that matches the Shopify order. If one exists, the flow stops so the order is not booked twice.
Create the SAP ECC sales order
A new sales order is created in SAP ECC with the customer, line items, quantities and pricing from Shopify. The order is ready for fulfillment.
Write the reference back to Shopify
The Shopify order is updated with the SAP ECC sales order reference. Both records are now linked for tracking and reconciliation.
