About this template
Order management re-keys every won deal from Salesforce into SAP ECC by hand, which delays fulfillment and lets totals drift from what the customer agreed to. This template starts when a new opportunity is created in Salesforce, fetches the linked account for the sold-to party, checks SAP ECC for an existing sales order for that opportunity, creates the order only when none exists, and writes the SAP ECC order number back to the opportunity.
Key benefits
Inside the flow
The flow starts when a new opportunity is created in Salesforce, shapes the deal data for SAP ECC, pulls the linked account, and checks SAP ECC for an order already tied to the opportunity. If none exists it creates the sales order and writes the SAP ECC order number back to the Salesforce opportunity.
A new opportunity in Salesforce starts the flow. The deal fields are mapped into the structure SAP ECC expects for a sales order.
The linked Salesforce account is fetched by ID to get the customer reference used as the SAP ECC sold-to party.
SAP ECC is searched for a sales order that already references this opportunity.
If an order is found, the flow stops and nothing is created. If none is found, the flow continues to order creation.
A new sales order is created in SAP ECC from the opportunity and account details, ready for fulfillment and invoicing.
The SAP ECC sales order number is written to the opportunity, so reps can see the order without leaving Salesforce.
What changes for sales and order management once Salesforce opportunities create SAP ECC sales orders on their own.
01
Order management no longer enters every deal into SAP ECC by hand. A new opportunity becomes a sales order on its own.
02
Sales orders reach SAP ECC as soon as the opportunity is created, so fulfillment and invoicing start without waiting in an order-entry queue.
03
Order details come straight from the Salesforce opportunity, which keeps SAP ECC in line with what the customer agreed to.
04
Every opportunity is checked against SAP ECC before an order is created, which prevents duplicate shipments and invoices.
05
Each opportunity carries its SAP ECC order number, so reps can answer customer questions without chasing order management.
