United Sports Brands is a recognized manufacturer in the sports and active lifestyle sector, known for high-quality products and gear. The company runs its direct-to-consumer storefront on Shopify and relies on Microsoft Dynamics GP for back-office operations including inventory, financial reporting, and invoicing. To meet customer demand for fast, reliable delivery, United Sports Brands adopted Amazon’s Buy with Prime (BWP) service — letting customers check out on Shopify with orders fulfilled by Amazon’s logistics network.
The operational challenge
Adopting Buy with Prime introduced a layer of complexity that standard Shopify–Dynamics GP integrations aren’t built for. Orders now came in two flavors: pure BWP orders fulfilled entirely by Amazon, and mixed orders containing both Amazon-fulfilled and internally-fulfilled items. The existing integration imported everything into Dynamics GP immediately — before Amazon had even shipped — creating premature invoices, inventory errors, and financial records that didn’t reflect reality. The problem
When United Sports Brands adopted Buy with Prime on Shopify, the gap between the BWP fulfillment model and Microsoft Dynamics GP’s standard order flow created three synchronization problems that manual effort could not solve cleanly:

Premature order imports & incorrect invoicing
The standard integration imported all order lines into Dynamics GP the moment an order was created in Shopify — before Amazon confirmed shipment. Invoices were generated for items that hadn’t shipped yet, corrupting inventory levels and financial reconciliation for everything pending Amazon fulfillment.

Orders containing both BWP items (Amazon-fulfilled) and non-BWP items (warehouse-fulfilled) were imported as a single document into Dynamics GP. Mixed orders containing both Amazon-fulfilled and warehouse-fulfilled items are automatically split into two separate sales documents in Dynamics GP — one for BWP lines, one for non-BWP lines. Each document follows its own invoicing and inventory tracking workflow independently.
- Dual Item Mapping & Fulfillment Differentiation
Shopify’s Fulfillment Service field is used to differentiate items: “amazon fulfilled” for BWP items and “manual” for non-BWP items, with two separate data mappers ensuring precise identification of each item’s fulfillment source.
- Standardized Financial Segregation & Reporting
All BWP orders are automatically assigned to a designated Customer ID (WABP001) and Location ID (AMAZ1) in Dynamics GP — enabling instant, accurate reporting and clean financial segregation of Amazon-fulfilled transactions without manual filtering.
Each workflow runs as a closed loop: detect the event in one system, resolve it against the other, execute the update, and only surface an exception to a human when judgment is genuinely required.
