About Proveedora PGP
Proveedora PGP is a Mexican automotive business specialising in car and truck tires. It sells to small tire businesses and directly to consumers, and offers services including alignment, balancing, mechanical services, brake maintenance, suspension work, diagnostics, tune-ups, and oil changes.
The Operational Challenge
Proveedora PGP started selling online on Magento 1 and moved to Magento 2 in 2019. Its SAP Business One connector on that stack was unreliable: it caused site crashes and broke the sync of inventory, orders, and payments. The connector's limited interface and functionality dragged down process efficiency across the business. To keep up with steady growth, the team decided to re-platform on Shopify and needed a dependable way to connect it to SAP Business One.
The problem
An unstable ERP connector turned a growth channel into an operational risk:
- 01
Site Crashes
The previous SAP Business One connector caused disruptions on the live store, including crashes.
- 02
Unreliable Inventory Sync
Stock data between the store and SAP Business One could not be trusted.
- 03
Broken Order & Payment Sync
Order and payment data did not move reliably into the ERP.
- 04
Limited Connector Functionality
A narrow interface and feature set constrained what the team could automate.
- 05
Platform Ceiling
Magento 2 plus the old connector could not scale with the company's growth, forcing a re-platform to Shopify.
This is the exact pattern appse ai exists to remove: a growing distributor whose ERP connector became the bottleneck, where every sync failure hits the storefront and the back office at once.
Why appse ai
Proveedora PGP researched Shopify to SAP Business One integration options extensively. It needed a stable, robust platform that fixed the immediate sync and stability problems, took integration maintenance off its own team, and gave it a foundation to scale into new channels.
appse ai delivered a configured and customised Shopify ↔ SAP Business One integration with a better interface and broader functionality than the previous connector. API updates and ongoing support are handled by the appse ai team, so Proveedora PGP no longer maintains integrations in-house.
The solution: a stable Shopify ↔ SAP Business One integration
Instead of patching a crash-prone connector, appse ai replaced it with automated, monitored workflows:
- Connector Replacement
The unstable SAP Business One connector was replaced with a configured and customised appse ai integration for Shopify.
- Product Data Sync
Product data syncs automatically from SAP Business One to Shopify.
- Inventory Management & Monitoring
Inventory data is managed and monitored across both systems, improving stock control.
- Invoice Management
Invoice handling is streamlined through the integration.
- Order Management
Order management improved following the move off the old connector.
- Managed API Updates & Analytics
The appse ai team handles API updates, and analytics tools monitor integration performance.
Each workflow runs as a closed loop: detect the event in one system, resolve it against the other, execute the update, and only surface an exception to a human when judgment is required.
The results
- Streamlined inventory data and invoice management
