About Crescent Garden
Crescent Garden is a customer of APPSeCONNECT. appse ai is APPSeCONNECT's own product, built with significantly more advanced automation and AI capabilities. This case study has been adapted to reflect how Crescent Garden's use case would run on appse ai today.
Founded in 1999 by Paula Douer and Harry Tchira, Crescent Garden is a global leader in container gardening solutions, known for its patented TruDrop self-watering technology and premium product lines (Crescent Garden and Crescent Too). Headquartered in Miami, Florida, the company serves contractors, garden centers, and plant enthusiasts worldwide.
The operational challenge
Crescent Garden ran SAP Business One and WooCommerce as separate systems. Product updates made in SAP Business One did not automatically carry to WooCommerce, so any product addition, update, or change required manual entry in both systems, and customers frequently saw outdated product details, old pricing, or mismatched descriptions. Every order placed on WooCommerce had to be manually entered into SAP B1 before processing, and as order volumes grew, orders sat in queues awaiting manual entry, slowing fulfillment and introducing data-entry mistakes. Stock levels on WooCommerce were updated manually and consistently lagged actual availability, leading customers to order sold-out items and contact support for status updates that never arrived automatically.
The problem
Running SAP Business One and WooCommerce as disconnected systems surfaced three specific problems for Crescent Garden:
- 01
Product information duplication
Product updates made in SAP Business One did not automatically carry to WooCommerce, so any product addition, update, or change required manual entry in both systems, and customers frequently saw outdated product details, old pricing, or mismatched descriptions. New product launches required double work.
- 02
Manual order entry bottleneck
Every order placed on WooCommerce had to be manually entered into SAP Business One before processing. As order volumes grew, orders sat in queues awaiting manual entry, slowing the entire fulfillment process, and data-entry mistakes created errors in quantities and customer details downstream.
- 03
Inventory accuracy issues
Stock levels on WooCommerce were updated manually and remained consistently behind actual availability, leading customers to place orders for sold-out items and driving cancellations and frustration. Fulfillment updates did not automatically reach WooCommerce, forcing customers to contact support for status information.
This is the exact pattern appse ai exists to remove: a manufacturer's product, order, and inventory data locked inside its ERP, with the storefront working from stale duplicates and customers absorbing the gap as cancellations and support tickets.
Why appse ai
Crescent Garden needed an integration that matched its exact existing workflows and handled its current order volumes and product catalog, with automated product sync, order entry, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment updates, scalable as the business grew.
appse ai built a direct connection between WooCommerce and SAP Business One, mapping Crescent Garden's exact workflows into four automated core data flows rather than forcing the business to change how it operated.
The solution: always-on sync across products, orders, inventory & fulfillment
Instead of manually duplicating product data and re-typing orders, appse ai deployed four automated workflows across Crescent Garden's full catalog-to-fulfillment cycle:
- Automated product creation & updates
Product information created or updated in SAP Business One flows automatically into WooCommerce. New products go live without manual duplication, and pricing, descriptions, and catalog updates carry across instantly.
- Real-time order synchronization
Orders placed on WooCommerce are automatically created in SAP Business One upon receipt, with no manual entry and customer details and order data arriving accurately.
- Live inventory synchronization
Inventory levels in SAP Business One are reflected in WooCommerce automatically and in real time, with stock changes updating the storefront simultaneously.
- Automatic fulfillment updates
Once an order is processed and shipped through SAP Business One, fulfillment and shipment details are automatically pushed back to WooCommerce, closing the loop for the customer.
Each workflow runs as a closed loop: detect the event in one system, resolve it against the other, execute the update, and only surface an exception to a human when judgment is genuinely required.
The results
Real-time synchronization across product data, sales orders, inventory, and fulfillment status between SAP Business One and WooCommerce, with manual data entry removed from daily operations:
- Consistent product data: information always synced between systems, updates happen once and propagate everywhere.
- Faster order processing: orders land in SAP Business One automatically upon placement, with no manual queue, entry delays, or data-entry errors.
- Accurate stock visibility: real-time inventory sync ensures the storefront always reflects actual availability; overselling eliminated.
- Improved post-purchase experience: customers receive fulfillment and shipping updates automatically without manual team intervention.
- Operational efficiency: manual data entry for product sync, orders, inventory, and fulfillment communication removed from daily operations, freeing team time for business-growth activities.
