Pick up new 860 files
On a set schedule, the flow lists the FTP/SFTP folder where trading partners drop EDI files and downloads each new file. The business sets the folder path.
About this template
Buyers send EDI 860 change requests to an FTP/SFTP folder, and someone has to read each one and edit the NetSuite sales order before it ships. This template picks up each 860 on a schedule, finds the NetSuite sales order by purchase order reference, applies the change if the order status still allows it, and alerts a Microsoft Teams user when it does not.
Key benefits
Inside the flow
On each scheduled run, the flow downloads new EDI 860 files from FTP/SFTP and finds the NetSuite sales order by purchase order reference. It updates the order if its status allows the change, or messages a designated Microsoft Teams user if it does not.

Each EDI 860 is read, and the purchase order reference and requested changes are extracted.
The flow fetches the matching NetSuite sales order with its line items and address.
The sales order status decides whether the change can still be applied.
If the order is still eligible, the NetSuite sales order is updated with the buyer's changes.
If the order has moved past the point of change, it is left untouched and a Microsoft Teams message goes to a designated user. The business sets the recipient.
What changes when EDI 860 requests update NetSuite sales orders automatically
01
Scheduled pickup means every 860 is read and processed without someone checking the FTP/SFTP site by hand.
02
Orders are corrected in NetSuite before fulfillment, so you ship what the buyer now wants instead of absorbing freight and inventory losses on refused goods.
03
The status check stops a late request from overwriting an order that is already moving on the floor.
04
A Microsoft Teams alert puts the request in front of your team while there is still a chance to intervene.
05
Growing EDI change volume is handled by the flow, not by adding people to read files and edit orders.
