About WaterTech Corp.
WaterTech Corp. designs and manufactures cordless pool cleaners, selling through a mix of direct e-commerce (Shopify, BigCommerce) and major marketplaces (Amazon), backed by SAP Business One as its ERP of record and Veeqo plus third-party logistics partners for fulfillment.
The Operational Challenge
As demand grew from dozens to hundreds and eventually thousands of orders a day, WaterTech's team was still bridging SAP Business One and its storefronts by hand — reading each order and re-keying it into the ERP, printing shipping labels manually, and matching them against an old WMS. Inventory numbers lived in SAP B1 but never propagated to the storefronts automatically, so sales staff resorted to manually updating stock counts over weekends just to avoid overselling. None of it could flex to route orders to the nearest warehouse, substitute products when stock ran low, or support a clean expansion into new countries — every new requirement just meant another manual workaround stacked on the last.
The problem
As WaterTech's order volume scaled into the thousands per day, the gap between its storefronts and SAP Business One created bottlenecks that manual effort could not keep up with:
- 01
Manual Order Processing
Every e-commerce order had to be read and re-entered into SAP Business One by hand, with shipping labels printed and matched against orders in an old WMS separately. At scale, this created constant delays and a rising error rate.
- 02
Limited Inventory Visibility
No real-time view of stock across multiple warehouses meant customers had no idea which location their order would actually ship from, or whether it was in stock at all — leading to inaccurate delivery expectations and manual weekend inventory corrections by sales staff.
- 03
Inefficient Shipping & Logistics
With no automated way to send shipment data to 3PL partners, fulfillment coordination relied on manual data entry, slowing delivery and introducing avoidable errors.
This is the exact pattern appse ai exists to remove: connected systems that still depend on a human to bridge the last mile between them.
Why appse ai
WaterTech needed an automation layer that could keep SAP Business One as the single source of truth across every channel — without a custom middleware build or a dedicated integration team, and flexible enough to encode business-specific logic like multi-warehouse routing and product substitution.
appse ai delivered pre-built connectors between SAP Business One and Amazon, BigCommerce, Shopify, and Veeqo, plus closed-loop 3PL data exchange — with custom workflows for dynamic multi-warehouse shipping and stock substitution built on top, without requiring WaterTech to hire developers.
The solution — always-on workflows across order, inventory & fulfillment
Instead of manual reconciliation across five systems, appse ai deployed always-on workflows that watch every channel and SAP Business One simultaneously:
- E-commerce Order Sync (Amazon, BigCommerce, Shopify → SAP B1)
Orders are captured and pushed into SAP Business One automatically the moment they're placed, removing manual entry and the errors that came with it.
- Real-Time Multi-Warehouse Inventory Sync
Stock levels in SAP B1 are mirrored live across every storefront and warehouse, preventing overselling and ending the manual weekend inventory updates — critical groundwork for the European expansion.
- Automated Shipping via Veeqo
Shipping labels are generated and tracking data is written back to SAP B1 automatically, replacing the manual print-and-match process.
- 3PL Data Exchange
Fulfillment and delivery status flow automatically between SAP Business One and WaterTech's 3PL partners, closing a gap that previously ran on manual coordination.
- Custom Multi-Warehouse & Substitution Logic
Purpose-built workflows route shipments dynamically from the nearest warehouse with stock and apply product substitution rules automatically when a location runs low.
Each workflow runs as a closed loop: detect the event in one system, resolve it against the other, execute the update, and only surface an exception to a human when judgment is genuinely required.
